Terms of Service

Last updated: July 14, 2026

This is a plain-language starting template reflecting how the Service actually works today. It is not legal advice, and should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before a real public launch.

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Resume Builder (the "Service"). By creating an account or publishing a page through the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. What the Service does

Resume Builder lets you sign in with GitHub, fill out structured resume sections (headline, about, tech stack, skills, timeline, projects, contact info), optionally upload a custom avatar and a resume file (PDF/DOCX), and publish a shareable page at a URL of the form /r/your-username or a subdomain of your-username.[domain].

2. Your account

You sign in exclusively via GitHub OAuth; the Service does not store passwords. You're responsible for the accuracy of the content you publish and for keeping your GitHub account secure. You may publish or unpublish your page at any time; unpublished pages are visible only to you.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of everything you upload or write (resume content, avatar images, resume files). By publishing, you grant the Service a license to host and display that content publicly at your page's URL, for as long as your account exists and the page stays published. Don't upload content you don't have the right to share, or content that's unlawful, defamatory, or infringes someone else's rights.

4. Visitor download requests

If you upload a resume file, visitors to your page can request a direct download link by submitting their name and email. We record that submission (and a best-effort, IP-derived location and browser/device summary) as a lead you can view and delete from your dashboard. See the Privacy Policy for details on how that data is handled.

5. Plans and billing

The Free plan is free, as described on the Pricing page. Paid ("Pro") plans, if and when you subscribe to one, are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis until cancelled. You can manage or cancel a subscription from your dashboard at any time; cancellation takes effect per Stripe's standard billing-portal behavior (typically at the end of the current billing period). Feature availability for paid plans may be added over time; we'll describe current Pro benefits accurately on the Pricing page.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to: violate the law; harass, impersonate, or defraud anyone; scrape or abuse the Service's public pages or APIs beyond reasonable, good-faith use; or attempt to bypass rate limits or security controls.

7. Termination

We may suspend or remove an account or page that violates these Terms, or at our discretion for accounts that appear abusive or fraudulent. You may stop using the Service and delete your page at any time via account deletion (contact us or use in-app deletion where available).

8. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Contact
